(Non- PEGASUS Events) Social Determinants of Health and the advancment of Health Equity

As you are all aware, WHO has been requested by Member States to provide an updated world report to the Commission on the Social Determinants of Heath’s (CSDH) report in 2008. Next week’s 10th Global Conference on Health Promotion (10GCHP) provides us with three opportunities to reinforce the vital role the social determinants of health play in advancing health equity:
- Professor Sir Michael Marmot, Plenary, Monday 13 December, 12h30-13h30 CET: the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have fallen so unequally that the CSDH’s claim ‘social injustice is killing on a grand scale’ has never been so easily understood (virtual, online).
- Health Promotion Forum (7), New World Report, 13 December, 10h00 – 11h00: discuss the proposed elements that will make up this timely new ‘World Report’, to be published in October 2022 (virtual, online):
