Melissa Whaling

Executive Director, PEGASUS Institute

Working with PEGASUS Institute has been a transformative experience. Their commitment to global health and sustainability is truly inspiring. The team is so positive and very easy to work with; their dedication is unparalleled.

Mohammed Nashat

Founder & CEO, BAITACH IT LIMITED

Working with PEGASUS Institute has been a transformative experience, allowing me to connect my research in water sustainability with broader issues of peace, health, and environmental sustainability. During my role as a program and administrative assistant and now again back with the team, I had the opportunity to support PEGASUS’s impactful work in fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. PEGASUS Institute’s dedication to creating a healthier, more sustainable, and peaceful world aligns closely with my research, which focuses on the linkages between blue carbon ecosystems and water quality in coastal wetlands. As a Ph.D. Candidate in Sustainability Management (Water) at the University of Waterloo, I investigate the intricate connections between ecological health and community well-being in coastal fisheries, particularly in Chilika Lagoon, India. My work aims to bridge perspectives between developed and developing countries, recognizing the unique challenges faced by small-scale fisheries. PEGASUS’s commitment to interdisciplinary solutions and its collaborative approach has greatly enriched my understanding and expanded the scope of my own research. It is inspiring to be part of an organization that champions peace, environmental sustainability, and health for all.

Navya Vikraman Nair

Program & Administrative Assistant

I connected with PEGASUS Institute through a chain of relationships – it’s amazing how networking and the kindness of others can open doors to new interests, career opportunities, and personal growth. I’ve always wanted to be involved in Canada’s Global Health landscape, but finding a meaningful pathway was challenging. The PEGASUS Institute community has given me the opportunity to stay engaged in Global Health, focusing on the intersection of Sustainability and Peace. These are the theoretical and practical pillars that help us understand communities in conflict-affected and underdeveloped regions, as well as diasporic communities around the world. With PEGASUS, I feel we’re building an international community that transcends differences, speaking a shared language – a language of peace through health. It’s a vision I believe could benefit everyone, and I encourage others to join in!
