MENA Network Webinar – Building Bridges: The HopeBridge Platform

PEGASUS Institute’s MENA Network hosted a webinar on health in Gaza, with our speaker Dr. Omar Lattouf shedding light on the work of the Gaza Healthcare Initiative and a new platform called HopeBridge, which aims to coordinate health and humanitarian aid and reconstruction projects.

Exciting Webinar Alert!

We were excited to welcome Siyan Hudda, who shared insights into Tupande — a cutting-edge, multi-channel model that transformed access to agricultural services in Kenya. Through Tupande, One Acre Fund leveraged a vast duka (retail shop) network and an online farmer platform to provide young farmers with essential resources and services. This program drove greater inclusion, increased the proportion of young people reached, and offered farmers new avenues for growth and success.

What Was Covered:

– A look into the innovative Tupande model: how it merged physical retail with digital access to farming resources.

– How young people gained more access to opportunities in agriculture. – Insights into scaling sustainable farming through technology and community partnerships.

IEHP Pre-Conference Event: Bridging Careers, Embracing Diversity

This special pre-conference session—part of the International Refugee and Migration Health Conference (IRMHC)—focused on supporting refugee and internationally educated healthcare professionals (IEHPs) on their path to meaningful careers in Canada.

PEGASUS Institute invited attendees to the launch of the Francophone chapter of the IEHP project. The purpose of this event was to present the project and to invite anyone interested in joining the network as a mentor, mentee, or supporter of internationally educated healthcare professionals (IEHPs) in their efforts to practice in Canada.

One aspect of the project was the provision of resources and opportunities for IEHPs. The event featured the participation of SÉO, who presented the CarriElles Santé project, aimed at French-speaking and bilingual newcomers who were internationally educated health professionals (IEHPs).

One of PEGASUS Institute’s main activities has been our PEGASUS Institute Virtual Event Series of webinars and roundtables that are hosted in English, French and Spanish. The purpose of our virtual events is to provide a platform to create discourse and to spark action to address global health, peace and environmental challenges that are interconnected. From some of our webinars and roundtables PEGASUS Institute has been developing projects with partners and stakeholders that will lead to change, impact and transformation.

We strive to produce tangible outputs such as academic publications, toolkits, community resources, online repositories and share and exchange information through many avenues such as events, our website, social media, newsletters, blog, mentorship programs, books, videos etc. with an aim to create meaningful change.

PEGASUS Conference

PEGASUS Institute was developed as a result of a series of engaging and action-oriented bi-annual conferences. PEGASUS Conference aims to advance awareness and understanding of Peace, Global Health And Sustainability through bi-annual conference events. The conference engages the next generation of leaders by bringing together health professionals, including: physicians, nurses and trainees, policymakers, academics, researchers, students, health-related organizations, community members, and an array of speakers to share ideas and strategies about Global Health.
