Rebuilding Medical and Public Health Education in Gaza through Innovation and Mentorship
PEGASUS Institute, on behalf of a collaborative team of professionals (Healthcare professionals; Academics; Global Health, Public Health, Mental Health and Peace professionals, Administrators, Government Officials, Humanitarian Sector Experts etc.), has coordinated a response to the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
This project seeks to develop a comprehensive response plan to address immediate and practical solutions for providing medical education to the region through the development of public health, educational and medical supports, through knowledge sharing, innovation, community engagement and mentorship. More specifically, in collaboration with local, regional and international partners (Ministry of Health, Ministry of Higher Education, healthcare professionals (from Canada, US, Gaza and the West Bank, higher learning institutions and educators (AAUP, AQU, BZU, An-Najah National University, University of Washington, PalMed Academy GEM Initiative), NGOs and humanitarian organizations (WHO Palestine, WHO EMRO, Juzoor, Harvard FXB Center for Health and Human Rights, GCMHP, Project ECHO, PEGASUS Institute), this project aims to develop, revive and implement educational programming within the areas of medicine (health), public health, mental health, and peacebuilding to decrease barriers to education for those whose education has been interrupted by war.
